Biography:

A 6th year medical student at Kasralainy school of medicine, Cairo University class of 2023. Asem was born on 22nd of May 1998 in Lyon, France. He lived most of his school life before attending school of medicine in Muscat, Oman until he finished his secondary education. Asem is a person who was always striving for obtaining the best possible results in whatever he participates in. being a medical student, he intends to be of help for whoever in need and to lead for a positive impact in healthcare and medical research. On the 17th of September 2021, he participated in the 22nd Annual International OBGYN Conference held in Cairo alongside 6 of his colleagues and won first place for the presentation of their study titled “The Ethical Conundrum Surrounding Elective Induced Abortion”. In his free time, Asem is a good piano player and woodworker. He also likes reading in different genres especially classic novels and history. He aspires to have a career in a surgical specialty and to serve through active and efficient participation in scientific research.

Biography:

A senior medical student at Cairo University, Egypt. Abdelrahman shows great interest in the field of medical research and is a willing learner that is open to incorporating new skills and experiences. He has participated in multiple presentations during his period of study, during which he has achieved best presenter and best presentation on multiple occasions. Besides medicine, Abdelrahman is quite interested in the artistic approaches to story-telling such as film making and photography, in addition to the historical aspects of life. He is looking forward to getting into more projects relating to the medical and planetary health fields alongside his studies.

Biography:

A 23-year-old medical student in kasr Al-Ainy school of medicine located in Cairo, Egypt (class of 2023). Before attending medical school, he acquired his international general certificate of secondary education in 2016. Youssef was born in Saudi Arabia on January 26th, 1998, and lived there up until 2013 when he moved back to his home country, Egypt, to attend high school there. Ever since he was in primary school his goal has always been to achieve the heist level of knowledge possible and what better way to do that than to study the most complex machine known to man, the human body. Through gaining this knowledge, he intends to be a positive change in his patients’ lives and work towards betterment of their health in every aspect that he can. On the 17th of September 2021, he participated in the “22nd annual international OBGYN conference” held in Cairo, Egypt alongside 6 of his colleagues with a research titled “the ethical conundrum surrounding elective induced abortion” and won first place. In his free time, Youssef is an avid reader of fiction and recently Greek philosophy has piqued his interest which he intends to dive deeper into alongside his university education. Youssef also has an affinity for intricate work like suturing and is thinking of a career path that requires dexterity as an essential skill.

Biography:

A 6th year medical student at the faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. Mohamed is a hard worker and always aiming to get first place. He placed the first at the level of the Arab Republic of Egypt in high school in 2016. Besides medicine, his hobbies are going to the GYM and boxing that taught him patience and self-control. He has been working with his team of 7 on an OBGYN research project on the topic of abortion in Egypt since October 2020 that was presented by them in the OBGYN conference in Egypt in September 2021. He is willing for participation in multiple research projects related to medicine.

Biography:

A 23-year-old medical student, born in Cairo, Egypt on the 3rd of May, 1998. Omar spent the first 18 years of his life in the United Arab Emirates, until he completed his GCE A Levels. Right now, he is in his 6th year of studying medicine in Cairo University. He sometimes enjoys some team sports, such as basketball and volleyball. In addition to fluent Arabic and English, he has some knowledge in French language (DELF A2). Also, he’s currently taking German language courses, attempting to reach a professional level. Along with 6 of his colleagues, he has conducted a research on the topic of abortion in Egypt, and presented it in the annual Cairo OBGYN 2021 Conference. Their team was able to achieve the first place amongst other presentations, as decided by the local committee. This experience proves Omar’s ability as a team player, and as a presenter as well.

Biography:

A 23-year-old medical student in Kasr Al-Ainy medical school, Cairo University, Egypt (class of 2023). Ziad was born and raised in Egypt where he also received his secondary education. Before being accepted into medical school, he acquired his International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSEs) in 2016. Leaving a footprint on Earth before his time runs out has always been Ziad’s life goal. Due to his curious nature, the fact that many aspects of our physiology remain a mystery after hundreds of years of medical research never sat right by him, and for that he decided to make it his mission to decipher the enigma that is the human body. Through discipline and hard work, he plans to use the information available to ensure a better and healthier lifestyle for his patients in every way possible. On the 17th of September 2021, he participated in the "22nd Annual International OBGYN Conference" held in Cairo, Egypt alongside 6 of his colleges with a research titled "The Ethical Conundrum Surrounding Elective Induced Abortion" and won first place. Alongside his studies, sports formed a significant portion of his life ever since his childhood. Swimming was his sport growing up at which he won multiple medals both locally and internationally. Ziad then decided to opt for a more team-oriented sport and landed on handball. He takes part in Nasr City Sports Club handball team and has been fighting for their colours for 3 years now. He also has a gift of having a great attention span and multitasking without having to sacrifice any aspect of his life and for that he is thinking of a career path in multiple traumas.

Biography:

A 6th year student at the faculty of medicine, Cairo University. Reem was born in Giza, Egypt on December 15, 1998 and then moved to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when she were five years old. She received her American Diploma from ISG Dammam in 2016 and then came back to complete her Bachelor’s in Egypt. Reem can speak two languages fluently: Arabic and English, and understands a bit of French. She has experience in volunteer work, event planning, and public speaking. Some of her hobbies include playing volleyball, going to the gym, yoga, reading, and listening to podcasts. Recently, she has been working with her team of 7 on an OBGYN research project on the topic of abortion in Egypt since October 2020 which won the first place prize in the Cairo OBGYN International Conference 2021.
