Biography:

Prof. Roberto Fazioli was an Italian economist, researcher, and academic specializing in energy economics, environmental economics, public utilities, and sustainable development. He served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Ferrara, where he taught courses on energy economics, natural resources, network utilities, and environmental policy.

He earned a PhD in Economics and Institutions and built more than three decades of experience spanning academia, government, and the energy industry. Throughout his career, he held leadership positions in several public utility and energy companies and served as an advisor on renewable energy, infrastructure investment, and public utility regulation. He also contributed as an expert on renewable energy initiatives under Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) for the Emilia-Romagna Region.

Prof. Fazioli's research focused on renewable energy, environmental sustainability, public economics, energy markets, infrastructure finance, regulation of utilities, and climate policy. He authored numerous scientific publications and books on energy economics and sustainable infrastructure, and was a frequent speaker at international conferences addressing the future of clean energy and environmental governance.

According to published reports, Prof. Roberto Fazioli passed away in January 2026 at the age of 64. He is remembered for his significant contributions to energy economics, renewable energy policy, and the development of public utility management in Italy.
