Engr. Jonathan C. Pacaldo is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Palawan State University, Philippines, where he teaches core electrical engineering and higher mathematics courses. He is pursuing a Doctor of Engineering in Energy Systems at the University of San Carlos in Cebu as a Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Graduate Scholar.
His research focuses on renewable energy systems, power systems engineering, energy auditing, sustainable infrastructure, and marine renewable energy. His work is particularly centered on assessing wave energy resources for off-grid and island communities in the Philippines, with the goal of improving energy access while reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
