Why New York, USA?

The City of New York, usually called either New York City (NYC) or simply New York (NY), is the most populous city in the United States. With an estimated 2018 population of 8,398,74 distributed over a land area of about 302.6 square miles. A global power city, New York City has been described as the cultural, financial, and mediacapital of the world, and exerts a significant impact upon commerce, entertainment, research, technology, education, politics, tourism, art, fashion, and sports.


Over 600,000 students are enrolled in New York City's over 120 higher education institutions, the highest number of any city in the United States and higher than other major global cities like London and Tokyo, including over half million in the City University of New York(CUNY) system alone in 2014. Much of the scientific research in the city is done in medicine and the life sciences. New York City has the most postgraduate life sciences degrees awarded annually in the United States.

Tourist Spot

New York City received an eighth consecutive annual record of approximately 62.8 million tourists in 2017, counting not just overnighters but anyone visiting for the day from over 50 miles away, including commuters. Major destinations include the Empire State Building, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island, Broadway theatre productions, Central Park, Times Square, Coney Island, the Financial District, museums, sports stadiums, luxury shopping along Fifth and Madison Avenues, entertainment events such as the Tribeca Film Festival, Randalls Island music festivals such as Governors Ball, Panorama and Electric Zoo, and free performances in Central Park at Summerstage and Delacorte Theater.
