Title: Telehealth and covid 19

Abstract:

During the pandemic, during both the waves telemedicine played a vital part in both triaging and treating covid 19 patients. Due to the proper triaging load on the hospital was grossly reduced , people on the onset of the first symptom were duly triaged through telemedicine consultation and only patients who actually needed hospital care were hospitalised . Otherwise the other patients were treated with required medication and were observed at home. Home isolation course was also monitored by doing repeated teleconsultations and treating the patients according to the symptoms which were encountered. This greatly reduced the load on hospitals as well as reduced the anxiety of the patients to a huge extent. Patients at the onset of symptoms could immediately connect with their doctor and get their problems sorted out . Both at a government as well as private level telehealth and telemedicine were practiced and patients were treated and instructed. Health education to the patients was also provided through telehealth medium . Instructions regarding wearing a mask, maintaining social distancing and washing hands regularly were given and re emphasized time and again.
