Cosmetic dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is generally used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance of teeth, gums and/or bite. It primarily focuses on improvement in dental aesthetics in color, position, shape, size, alignment and overall smile appearance.

Laser Dentistry

Laser dentistry is the use of lasers to treat a number of different dental conditions. It became commercially used in clinical dental practice for procedures involving tooth tissue in 1989. Laser dentistry is performed with the use of strong, concentrated, beams of light energy targeting the treatment area of the patients mouth or teeth. They are easy tools for a dentist to use and can make careful incisions, vaporize tissue, remove tooth decay, and remove soft tissue from gums.

Prosthodontics and periodontics

Prosthodontics is one of the branches of dentistry that deals with the replacement of missing teeth and the associated soft and hard tissues by prostheses (crowns, bridges, dentures) which may be fixed or removable, or may be supported and retained by implants. Periodontology or periodontics is the specialty of dentistry that studies supporting structures of teeth, as well as diseases and conditions that affect them. The supporting tissues are known as the periodontium, which includes the gingiva, alveolar bone, cementum, and the periodontal ligament.

Dental Genetics

Many common diseases are not inherited as a single gene defect but instead result from gene-environment interactions. No gene to date has been identified that has as large an impact on periodontal disease as do environmental influences, such as smoking or diabetes. A predictive test for dental caries or for periodontal disease does not currently exist; both of these are complex diseases with multiple genetic and environmental risk factors. While genetic testing holds potential for clinical application in the future, clinical measurements remain the best approach for assessment of caries and periodontal disease at this time.

Pediatric Dentistry

Pediatric dentistry is the branch of dentistry dealing with children from birth through adolescence. The specialty of pediatric dentistry is recognized by the American Dental Association, Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Pediatric Dentistry: Pediatric Dentistry is an age-defined specialty that provides both primary and comprehensive preventive and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs

Geriatric Dentistry

Geriatric dentistry is the delivery of dental care to older adults involving diagnosis, prevention, management and treatment of problems associated with age related diseases. The mouth is referred to as a mirror of overall health, reinforcing that oral health is an integral part of general health.

Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry” is the term dental professionals use to explain how they replace missing or damaged teeth. Fillings, crowns (“caps”), bridges and implants are common restorative options. The goal is to bring back your natural smile and prevent future oral health issues. Restorative dentistry is the study, diagnosis and integrated management of diseases of the teeth and their supporting structures and the rehabilitation of the dentition to functional and aesthetic requirements of the individual

Aesthetic dentistry

Aesthetic dentistry combines art and science to improve your teeth. Aesthetic dentistry helps correct teeth that are:

  • Crooked
  • Missing
  • Stained
  • Cracked
  • Chipped

Some people mistakenly believe that a perfect smile is the primary focus of aesthetic dentistry. However, while improving the look and brilliance of your smile is part of the equation, it’s not the ultimate goal. Instead, this philosophy of care pays special attention to the natural health and function of your mouth.
