A new report has revealed the vaccine R&D efforts of 15 of the leading pharmaceutical companies to combat the COVID-19 coronavirus.

For the past week, lots of media was abuzz about the results of an in vitro study by Australian researchers involving Ivermectin, a drug used to treat parasitic infections. A single dose anti-parasitic drug was found to be able to stop the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus from replicating in cells within 48 hours, according to findings from the vitro studies by Monash University’s Biomedicine Discovery Institute (BDI), working with the Peter Doherty Institute of Infection and Immunity.

WHO-supported special edition comic book will help protect Thais from COVID-19

Dr. Daniel Kertesz, WHO Representative to Thailand, was among those who presented the special edition to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha in a ceremony at Government House. Using cartoons and humour, the 56-page magazine shows readers how to reduce the risks of infection for themselves and their communities by using basic but effective measures - washing hands frequently and properly, coughing and sneezing safely, avoiding touching your mouth and nose, and staying a safe distance (1-2 m) from others.
