Sessions

Anesthesiology is a medical specialty that deals with all aspects of patient care before, during, and after the operation. Anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medication are all included. An anesthesiologist is a doctor who specializes in anesthesia.

Perioperative medicine is a medical specialty that is becoming an increasingly important part of the delivery of healthcare in the secondary care setting and anesthetic services. It refers to the practice of patient-cen, multidisciplinary, and integrated medical care from contemplation of surgery until full recovery.

The Division of Pain Management in the Department of Anesthesiology offers a full spectrum of treatment options for preventing and treating both acute pain (pain experienced in the aftermath of surgery) and chronic pain (pain caused by a chronic condition that requires regular treatment).

Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology is a subspecialty of anesthesiology that focuses on the perioperative, intraoperative, and postoperative treatment of adults and children undergoing cardiothoracic surgery and procedures. It is concerned with the anesthetic aspects of surgery situations such as open heart surgery, lung surgery, and a variety of other surgeries involving the human chest. This includes overseeing the cardiopulmonary bypass (heart-lung) machine, which is typically required for the surgical repair of the heart during the procedure. Anesthesiologists are also using more modern and intrusive procedures to monitor the operations.

Clinical anesthesia is a practice of anesthesia to treat the patient who is undergoing a surgery or medical procedures. Clinical anesthesia addresses all the aspects such as anesthesia practice, anesthetic administration, pain treating, and management rather than theoretical or laboratory studies

Dental Anaesthesia is a branch of anesthesiology that deals with dental medical operations. Xylocaine or lignocaine, mepivacaine, and bupivacaine are the most commonly used neighbourhood analgesics. These specialists are tough and don't seep into tissues during procedures; they're used as a component of mandibular anaesthetic and maxillary anaesthesia. Transcutaneous electronic nerve prompting causes pain to disappear and has a variety of side effects, including as drowsiness and increased tissue temperature. Lidocaine is the prominently used in the dental medical procedure.

During surgical and diagnostic procedures, Paediatric Anaesthesia ensures that neonates, babies, and children get nontoxic anesthetic that keeps them comfortable.

Geriatric anesthesia is a branch of medicine that focuses on anesthesia in the elderly.

The goal of training in neuroanesthesia is that the trainee in anesthesia be able to administer anesthesia safely to patients with the neurologic disease who are undergoing neurologic or non-neurologic surgery, diagnostic procedures requiring anesthesia, or non-surgical interventions requiring anesthesia.

Spinal anesthesia is a neuraxial anesthesia technique in which local anesthetic is placed directly in the intrathecal space (subarachnoid space). The subarachnoid space houses sterile cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), the clear fluid that bathes the brain and spinal cord.
