Biography: Dr Steffi Friedrichs has been a leading expert, policy advisor and business representative for emerging technological innovation for nearly 20 years. She is currently the Founder and Director of AcumenIST, an internationally active consultancy that drives the advancement of science- and technology-based innovations through proactive initiatives in the public and private sector. Before joining AcumenIST, Steffi worked for the OECD, where she developed its definition, indicators and impact assessment of biotechnology and nanotechnology, and led two international workshops on genome editing. Steffi has a strong track record in the establishment, development and representation of technology-based companies; she was the Founder and General Director of the Nanotechnology Industry Association (NIA) group, Co-Founder and Member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Micro- & Nanotechnology Community (CMNC), Director of the Master’s Program in Micro- and Nanotechnology at the University of Cambridge, and Lecturer in Inorganic Chemistry and Solid State Chemistry at the University of Oxford.

Biography: Eugen M. Sheregii (in pass: Eugeniusz Szeregij), Education: Uzhgorod University (1971); A. F. Joffe Physical-Technical Institute in Leningrad – PhD (1976); St. Petersburg University of Technology – Doctor of Science (1992); Employment: University of Rzeszow – Full Professor (1999 – now). Activities: The cyclotron-phonon resonance with absorption of two acoustic phonons (1987); the magneto-phonon resonance with simultaneous emission and absorption of two phonons belonging to different sublattices of the semiconductor solid solution was discovered in 1988. Discontinuity of the phonon frequencies temperature dependence caused by the Dirac point in HgCdTe (2009); SERS based on nano-complexes Au+Oxidise enzyme (2015); Topological Insulators based on HgCdTe (2017). Honours and memberships: Member of E-MRS Board, Polish Physical Society – Member (1994), Awards: Awards of Rector for Scientifics works (2002, 2009), Award of Ministry of Science and Higher Education – 2014.

Title: Hybrid Nanowire Based Quantum Networks at Atomic Scale: from growth mechanisms to properties

Biography: Prof. Jordi Arbiol graduated in Physics at Universitat de Barcelona (UB) in 1997, where he also obtained his PhD (European Doctorate and PhD Extraordinary Award) in 2001 in the field of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) applied to nanostructured materials. He was Assistant Professor at UB. From 2009 to 2015 he was Group Leader at Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona, ICMAB-CSIC. Since 2017 he is President of the Spanish Microscopy Society (SME), was Vice-President from 2013 to 2017 and since 2009 he is Member of its Executive Board. In 2018 he was elected as Member of the Executive Board of the International Federation of Societies for Microscopy (IFSM) (2019-2026). Since 2015 he is the leader of the Group of Advanced Electron Nanoscopy at Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2), CSIC and BIST. He has been awarded with the 2014 EMS Outstanding Paper Award, the EU40 Materials Prize 2014 (E-MRS), listed in the Top 40 under 40 Power List (2014) by The Analytical Scientist and the PhD Extraordinary Award in 2001 (UB). He has published more than 315 papers, cited more than 11971 WoS (15525 GoS) and h-index: 62 WoK (71 GoS).

Biography: Dr. Osman Adiguzel graduated from Department of Physics, Ankara University, Turkey in 1974 and received PhD- degree from Dicle University, Diyarbakir-Turkey. He studied at Surrey University, Guildford, UK, as a post doctoral research scientist in 1986-1987, and his studies focused on shape memory alloys. He worked as research assistant, 1975-80, at Dicle University and shifted to Firat University in 1980. He became professor in 1996, and he has already been working as professor. He published over 50 papers in international and national journals; He joined over 100 conferences and symposia in international and national level as participant, invited speaker or keynote speaker with contributions. He served the program chair or conference chair/co-chair in some of these activities. In particular, he joined in last four years (2014 - 2018) over 50 conferences as Speaker, Keynote Speaker and Conference Co-Chair organized by South Asian Institute of Science and Engineering (SAISE), web: http://saise.org/, Science and Engineering Institute (SCIEI), web: http://www.sciei.org, International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology, web: http://www.iacsit.org/, The Academic World Education and Research Center (AWER-Center), web: http://www.awer-center.org/, and other institutes and companies. Dr. Adiguzel served his directorate of Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Firat University in 1999-2004. He supervised 5 PhD- theses and 3 M.Sc theses. He is also Technical committee member of many conferences. He received a certificate which is being awarded to him and his experimental group in recognition of significant contribution of 2 patterns to the Powder Diffraction File – Release 2000. The ICDD (International Centre for Diffraction Data) also appreciates cooperation of his group and interest in Powder Diffraction File.

Biography: Ayrat Raisovich Khamatgalimov has completed his PhD from Kazan National Research Technological University, Russia and postdoctoral studies from Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry, FRC Kazan Scientific Center of RAS, Russia. He is Deputy Head of Research and Senior Researcher of Laboratory of Physical-Chemical Analysis in Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry, FRC Kazan Scientific Center of RAS, Russia. He is engaged in research in the field of physical chemistry and quantum-chemical calculations; in particular, he has expertise in calculations of electronic and geometric structures of higher fullerenes. He is an expert in the field of synchronic thermal analysis. The results of his research were published in more than 40 papers in reputed journals.
